What does "garden party formal" mean for a dress code?
Think of it as "funky formal;" elegant, festive, and a little playful....perfect for a spring evening in Portugal. For women we encourage floor length dresses and gowns with a focus on bold and bright colors or prints. For men light colored suits and stylish jackets fit the vibe perfectly. Ties, bowties and bolos are optional but always encouraged!
What shoes should I wear?
The wedding dinner will take place in the grass, so consider this if you do not want to sink in. As someone who does not believe in jeopardizing my outfit for flooring........dinner will mostly be seated and is only a short portion of the night ;-)
What will the weather be like?
We anticipate warm weather during the day but once the sun goes down it will cool off. I recommend bringing a layer to keep you warm! A pashmina or sweater should be perfect.
Do you want us to actually change for the after party? What should we wear?
The answer is.....duh! As the night goes on we will transition into our after party with a disco chic vibe.........think fringe, sequins, glitter, flares, fabulous! Have fun and be ready to boogie.
Which airport should I fly into?
The venue is ~2h from Porto and Lisbon, so both are excellent options. Please choose whichever aligns with your pre-wedding plans/budget!
How should I get to the hotel?
Car rentals are incredibly cheap through booking.com! This is the easiest way to travel to and from the airport and throughout the country.
Can I bring my children to the wedding?
Please plan to leave your kids at home or travel with someone who can watch them during the wedding. The hotel is able to offer a babysitter, and I completely understand that not everyone would be comfortable with this, but I do want to share it as a potential option.
